We Belong To Each Other

Meet twin brothers who did everything together - growing up in a loving family with a dozen older brothers and sisters in Annapolis, Maryland, going to college, starting professional careers - and becoming addicted to crack cocaine for 23 years.
Rev. Richard Williams, Pastor & Executive Director of Pivot Mnistries, and his twin brother Robert, CEO of Open Door Mission in Rochester, New York, walked through the darkest valley together until the night they both - independently - reached out for help. An Outreach Center recommended they tackle treatment separately. So, for the first time in 49 years, Richard and Robert split up.
Richard came to Pivot Ministries in Bridgeport, CT, and Robert went to Rochester, NY. Within months they were back in touch, celebrating their liberation from addiction through Jesus Christ. Today they both lead organizations pledged to delivering safety and freedom to those struggling with substance abuse disorder and despair - the dark valley they have previously traveled through.
Richard and Robert will share their inspiring story at the 2026 We Belong To Each Other Gala from 6 pm on Saturday November 7 at Noroton Presbyterian Church, 2011 Post Road, Darien CT 06820. Register by emailing Mary Aly at maryaly@pivotministries.org.
